INCOVAR - INter COllegeĀ & VARsity

INCOVAR Inter College & Varsity is an activity of BGF that caters to the Buddhist undergraduates needs. INCOVAR operates as the "youth wing" of BGF, bringing youths closer to BGF through our own unique and experiential activities.

As INCOVAR matures, it is important to identify the Vision, Mission, and Purpose of INCOVAR in order to ensure the direction and continuity is preserved and not lost. At the same time, it is good to set our core values, culture and identity so that our activities are streamlined in the way that INCOVAR is viewed in the Buddhist community.

CULTURE:

At INCOVAR, we strive to present the ancient teachings of the Buddha in a contemporary approach which is easily absorbed and accepted by undergraduates. INCOVAR is for the young Buddhists by young Buddhists. As such, we do not wish to merely preach our values, but we strive to be the living embodiment of it by incorporating the values of INCOVAR in our lives. We believe that it is more effective by inspiring young Buddhists to continuously cultivating the Dhamma at every moment, rather than merely regurgitating the Suttas. As such, our activities are geared towards experiential learning, where participants will experience the learning whole-heartedly and keep the take-home message in their hearts always.

INCOVAR Dhamma Camp (IDC) are run in a cycle of four focus, namely, 4 Noble Truths, 5 Precepts, Kamma and Mental Cultivation. While the teachings are much wider than this scope, we wish to inspire a continuous spirit of learning and practicing through the initial taste of the IDC. This spirit would then burn the desire in the participants to deepen their Dhamma knowledge.
